(Columbus, Ohio) – Rick Althoff and Ian Moy, long-standing team members of Zipline Logistics, the Columbus-based and nationally recognized mid-size 3PL, have been promoted to national management roles within the company. Both expand their responsibilities with oversight of new carrier regions, talent development initiatives, and aggressive operational and sales goals.

“More than traditional promotions, this announcement marks a new stage in Zipline’s development,” explained Andrew Lynch, co-founder and president at Zipline. “We are bringing our management and career development structure in line with our long-term company goals.”

Althoff has been promoted to National Operations Manager and will be responsible for providing valuable direction to carrier sales staff in the South East, South Central, and Midwest regions. His efforts will also be focused on identifying opportunities for process standardization, technology enhancements, and many other long-term, national initiatives. Althoff began working at Zipline in 2009, and has grown alongside the company since its infancy.

“It’s rewarding to see the company expand while still maintaining its supportive culture,” added Althoff. “That’s a major reason why I love working here. There are so many opportunities to provide input and be part of the overall growth.”

Moy will be taking on a duel role at Zipline as Regional Director of West Coast, Great Plains, and Northeast Carrier Sales, and National Sales Manager. In addition to carrier sales team oversight, he will focus on strategic regional capacity expansion, niche and multi-modal service expansion, and second-level sales training development. He too has worked for Zipline through its impressive period of growth, starting with the company back in late 2010.

“This new role has deepened my energy and focus, and I look forward to fostering more crossdivisional collaboration at Zipline,” said Moy. “Our future is incredibly bright.”

“We are dedicated to promoting from within and strive to provide our logistics professionals with best-in-class professional development opportunities,” said Zipline CEO Walter Lynch. “When our team members are given the education, empowerment, and freedom they need, the business can continue delivering unparalleled service and achieving award-winning growth.”

Zipline’s robust career development structure includes intimate training for team members at every level of experience. Programs currently include Working Zipline, Career Mentor, and Leadership 411.
